Montepulciano – Tuscany Tour

For lovers of medieval cities and wine, Rome Transfer Tour offers a visit to Montepulciano.

We take you on a tour to the village of Montepulciano, a medieval hill town in Tuscany, to stroll along the ancient streets of the city that gives its name to the famous Montepulciano wine, and to find typical Italian hospitality.

A medieval hill town in Tuscany, Montepulciano is surrounded by vineyards and is known for its Nobile red wine.

For a small visit of a few hours, we suggest a walking route that can offer a view of the Old Town, so that you can become aware of the main monuments.

No less interesting are the monumental cellars. We recall, in fact, that Montepulciano is perhaps the only city in the world to have cellars in the basement of the city, and not just in the countryside.

The Pulcinella Tower is a clock tower surmounted by Pulcinella, one of the figures of the commedia dell’arte. Piazza Grande is home to the 14th-century Palazzo Comunale, with a tower offering views of the surrounding countryside, and the Duomo di Montepulciano, which exhibits a huge triptych on the altar.
